Data Model and CRM: International Guidelines for Museum Object Information Categories, CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model
Data Model and CRM: International Guidelines for Museum Object Information Categories, CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model
Japanese translation of the guidelines drawn up by the CIDOC Working Group for Documentation Standards to facilitate the task of documenting collections and exchanging data. The purpose of the model (CRM) is to explain and to provide a foundation which can be added onto, rather than to limit or dictate what should be done.

ICOM. INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE FOR DOCUMENTATION (CIDOC). CIDOC, Porto Alegre Conference, Brazil, 2002: Preserving Cultures: Documenting Non Material Heritage = Encontro do CIDOC, Porto Alegre, Brasil, 2002: Preservando culturas: Documentando o patrimônio imaterial.
In recent years, UNESCO has laid especial emphasis on the importance of cultural diversity. If the cultural diversity of mankind is to be preserved, governments urgently need to draft new cultural policies. To this end, the ICOM International Committee for Documentation (CIDOC) devoted its 2002 meeting to documentation of non-material cultural heritage. Identification, cataloguing, and presentation of this new type of heritage will be crucially important elements in these new cultural policies.
