Press conference in Munich
The Red List of Peruvian Antiquities at Risk was presented at a press conference on Tuesday, the 13th of January 2009 at the Staatlichen Museum für Völkerkunde in Munich. Conducted entirely in German, speakers included:
Julien Anfruns, Director General of ICOM, S.E. Dr. Federico Kauffmann-Doig, Peruvian Ambassador to Germany, Ministerialdirigent Toni Schmid, Line Director for German museums, monuments and heritage, Dr. Markus Reindel, Deutsches Archäologisches Institut, Bonn, Karl-Heinz Kind, INTERPOL General Secretariat,Franz Weber, Kriminalhauptkommissar am Bayerischen Landeskriminalant, and Linn Their, World Customs Organisation.
Journalists afterwards took the floor to raise questions with the speakers.
The Conference was organised in close collaboration with the Chair and Secretary of ICOM-Germany, Dr. York Langenstein and Johanna Westphal, who greatly contributed to its success.
The Peruvian Government delegates from Berlin and Munich thanked ICOM for its dedication and help in protecting the cultural heritage of Peru.
