European Group on Museum Statistics (EGMUS)

The European Group on Museum Statistics (EGMUS) was created in June 2002 as a result from the merging of two groups - the Eurostat Museum Working Group and the Institut für Museumsforschung (IfM) of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin-Preußischer Kulturbesitz group. EGMUS is coordinated by Germany, France, The Netherlands and Luxembourg. It consists of 25 countries and two international organisations - UNESCO and Eurostat (Statistical Office of the European Communities) also participate in its projects.
