Un musée est une institution permanente, sans but lucratif, au service de la société et de son développement, destinée au public et qui étudie les processus et les témoins matériels et immatériels de l'homme et de son environnement, qui préserve et documente ceux là, les acquiert si besoin est, les interprète et les communique, notamment en les exposant à des fins d'études, d'éducation et de délectation, sous la forme de vrais choses ou de tout autre moyen qu'offrent les techniques.

A museum is a non profit institution, in the service of society and of its development, directed to the public and which researches, documents, preserves and acquires - whenever necessary - material and immaterial evidence of people and their environment ; and that interprets, communicates and exhibits them for purposes of study, education and enjoyment, by means of real things or any other possible means offered by technology.
